What I did on my Summer Vacation…

You know, I’ve always wanted to write one of those silly essays…  My answer, is mostly a boat load of nothing.  I didn’t go anywhere of note, except to a family member’s wedding.  But she got married last weekend.  I’ll say it for the umpteenth time…  I LOVED her dress!  🙂  I couldn’t stop telling her this…

Let’s see..  Besides working a lot this summer, I didn’t do a whole heck of a lot.  I’ve been working on several knitting projects.  Mostly shawls (as I’ve been REALLY into the shawls nowadays…), but a few washcloths and a few blankets, and a Crackerjack Scarf for a family member.  The most exciting thing I think I’ve finished this Summer, was my first pair of socks that actually fit my feet!!!

While working on all those projects, I was watching through newer episodes of TheKnitGirllls, and catching up on RoundTheTwist, Supernatural, and Once Upon A Time.  I still have a long way to empty out the DVR of last season’s TV before it all comes back.  Wish me luck on that front…  I also found several new podcasts that I’ve been binge watching.  A few that include male knitters.  Yes, they DO exist!  I promise you.  They’re the best individuals to get to know, and The Turbo Knitter is definatly one of them!  He has a large heart and gives so much to the community around him.  He’s been an inspiration to try to give more back to the community where I live as well.

When I wasn’t watching TV shows or podcasts, I spent the time listening to audiobooks and reading books on  my kindle.  Mostly the Anita Blake series that I’ve been writing about on and off.  (Now that I think about it, I haven’t posted an update on that front.  I’m at least 3 books past where I posted last…)

My biggest feat I took on this Summer, was to read through Necromicon (20+ hours of Horror-y Goodness!) by H.P. Lovecraft.  There were SOOO many good stories.  This was one that was recommended to me by Leslie of TheKnitGirllls.  I think you’ll want to read it as well!  I promise.  If you like horror/Sci-Fi stories.  If you have the chance, listen to the version on audible where there are TONS of good readers to listen to!

The other thing I’ve started to listen to from audible, is Catherine’s Coulter’s FBI series.  There are currently 19 books in the series.  I think I’ll write a bit about each as I finish them off.  I have to try to savor each one, as I need to wait for Audible credits to grab each one.  I believe I have up to the 6th one queued up.    So, stay tuned for those analyses…  🙂
