Let The FO Parade Begin

So, to go with my 2018 goal of finishing things, I’m going to chronologize my journey with each FO as I go through the year. Mostly because I plan on finishing as many FO’s as I can. Another goal was to write a few more blog posts this year. So, here we are.

The first thing I finished this year was what I called “Lovely Friendship Travels.”

This is the pattern “Friendship Road Sweater” by Cori Eichelberger. This pattern can be found in the book she co-wrote with Megan in their book, Minnesota 52.

It is a Short-sleeve pullover style sweater. I started this one on October 31st, and finished it January 10th. This was  a pretty quick knit, and was only waylaid by NaKniSweMo and most of December being busy. I pretty much stuck to the pattern, and I was rewarded! It’s a pretty awesome fit! I’m so glad I chose to do this sweater as my 2nd. Well, technically the NaKniSweMo sweater was the 2nd, but I started this one before that one, so *sticks tongue out*.

I finished the body and 1 sleeve before Christmas. Then the second sleeve by the 1st. I was waiting after that, the top ribbing,  for the appearance of a pair of size 5 (3.75mm), 16 inch circs. Emptyeye doesn’t believe me, but that was one of the cable lengths in size 5 (3.75mm) that I DON’T own… In fact, the rest of this sweater was done on a US 6 (4.0mm) needle. Mostly in a 32 inch cable. Used Magic Loop for the sleeves, which is only the 3rd time I’ve used Magic Loop, so go me!!!

I used 4.5 skeins of “Love You To Pieces” by Leading Men Fiber Arts on their Dramaturg base. I kept saying this on  my podcast, but the colorway looks like if you were to melt Reces Pieces into warm milk. What do you think? Can you see it in the pictures? It’s okay if you cannot. I can, and I love the way it came out, and that’s all that matters!!! *sticks tongue out*

This sweater is so light in it’s awesome DK’d-ness! I plan on wearing it to work soon-ish… Maybe even into the Springtime/Summertime…

Anyway, I hope  you enjoy reading this series as much as I’ll enjoy writing each entry!!! Happy Crafting!
