#55 And Ready To Jive

Hello again everyone!!! I hope you had a wonderful morning! FO #55 was a project that I’m calling simply “November DVD Socks.” For this month of the Desert Vista Dyeworks (DVD)’s Fourth Annual Sock Club, I decided to go with a different heel. I gave the “Vanilla Is The New Black” heel pattern by Vanessa Fletcher. I LOVE this pattern. It goes SOOOO fast, and it’s easier than it looks. No heel flap & gusset to pick up. Just increases and decreases. I think I’m going with this same pattern for December’s Socks, if not beyond that.  This month, I used the “Dia De Los Muertos” colorway this month.  I LOVE the color sequence. With the pattern flying by and the color, I finished these in record time…

What do you think?       Interesting, right?

54 – Hats Off To You!!!

Hello again everyone!!! The next FO was a hat for a recipient. Won’t say who it’s for, as it’s another gift. Sorry. This seems to be a common theme…

With this hat, I used the  “Ribbed Watchman’s Hat” by Channah Koppel. I modified it a bit (read, I messed up the first part, and decided to go with it…) to have 1 by 1 ribbing for the brim, then a purl row.  Then I followed the pattern exactly.  I used two different colors. Elegant Yarns Kaleidoscope  in the “Ocean Breeze” colorway, as well as Vanna’s Choice “Silver Grey.”  I LOVE how these two colors play together.

What do you think?

53 – Los Tres Calcetines (Socks)

Hello again everyone! As you can probably surmise from the title of this blog entry, I’ve finished a third pair of socks. This is another gift knit as well, so I won’t say who they’re for. However, I WILL say that this is the first time I’ve made a pair of socks for this recipient. I’m really hoping they like them (and that they fit just right). I’m kind of nervous about that, if I’m being honest…

I used Paton’s Kroy “Blue Stripe Ragg.” These went SUPER fast, due to the heaviness of the yarn. That, and the stripe sequence kept me VERY entertained the whole time.

52 – A Gift Or Two

Hello again, my wonderful readers! FO #52 is a gift for someone. I won’t say WHO these wonderful socks will be going to, until after I gift them in December. Sorry…

I called this project “Duces, Bro!”

I LOVE how the green color “Canopy” from Knit Picks worked up. I’m fairly certain that my recipient will LOVE these socks!  What do you think?

Until Next Time, Happy Crafting!

51 – All About Those Socks…

Hello everyone!  Happy Thanksgiving to my American readers. Hope you’ve been doing well! I’m off with my family having some good times and good food. While I am, I wanted to leave you with something to read. It’s been a little bit since I came back with the things that I’ve been finishing this year. The 51st project that I’ve finished was what I called simply “October DVD Socks.”

As we’ve been going into the cooler months, I made these socks taller than I have been during the Summer months. To this end, I ended up using 314.2 yards of Desert Vista Dyeworks’ Viso base in the “Dracula” colorway. I LOVE this colorway. I’ve already worn the socks several times.

Until Next Time! Happy Crafting!

#50’s Nifty!

Hello again everyone! I swear #50’s the last FO for a bit.  Thank you SOOO much for being patient with me as I put them up.  This FO is another Holiday gift. I’m sure my Recipient will LOVE this Shawl. I called this project “Flat Orchid Wrap” and cannot stop staring at it. I feel in love with the pattern, and I think I may make this pattern again.

This was the “Flat White Wrap” by CC Almon. I used US 3 – 3.25 mm needles, and 960 yards of Miss Babs, Caroline “Orchid.”

And yes, I DID keep singing “Sweet Caroline” as I was knitting this Shawl… And, you’re welcome for the earworm!!!

Anyway, I LOVE this combination of yarn and pattern.  What do you all think?

Until Next Time, Happy Crafting!

Use The Force #49!

Hello again everyone! This next FO was another hat for myself. I immediately knew I wanted to name this project “The Force is Strong With This One…”

The pattern I used on this one, was the “Lantern Lights” hat  by Joji Locatelli. I used US 4 – 3.5 mm, and US 6 – 4.0 mm needles and 171 yards of Apple Tree Knits, Plush DK Purl Jams  “Star Wars.”

Now you know why I called the project this, right? lol. I’m SOOO punny sometimes…

I LOVE how these colors work together. What do you think?

Until Next Time, Happy Crafting!
