Finally, #8

Hello everyone!!! I’m SOOO excited that I finally finished this next FO. Hence the title.

I started “Lintilla The Hun”  back in April of 2016, and all it’s needed recently was the ruffle bind off. I got bored of working on it, so I would only work on 2 ruffle pattern rotations at a time, once I was thinking of it. I have NO idea why I had such a hang up about it, but I decided it was time to finally finish it. IN FACT, I was determined to finish it yesterday.

The pattern was “Lintilla” by Martina Behm.

I used  Rohrspatz & Wollmeise Pure 100% Merino Superwash, in the “Xaverl” colorway.

I was using a Knitter’s Pride 47 inch fixed cable. Size  US 3 – 3.25 mm.

This is the perfect shawl size for me! 🙂 I can’t wait to wear it out in public!

Until Next Time, Happy Knitting!

Silver, Ever The Reading Geek! ;)

Hello everyone! I have spent the past month clocking all of the time I spend reading. Quite literally, actually. As you have probably already seen, a list of all the books I finished in January have already been added. That’s pretty usual.

However, what has been unusual this month, is that now I’m entering all of the time I’ve spent reading over the past month into a RAL (Read-A-Long) that the Geeky Girls Knit Podcast has been hosting and will continue to do so throughout the next couple of months. It’s been a lot of fun. However, I wasn’t happy with just tracking things in minutes. Oh no…

I have a spreadsheet that breaks down each minute I spent, and reading which books. In my case, I also tracked the time I was at work too all in one handy spreadsheet. Here, I’ll show you what it looks like now.      I think I’ll keep this the way it is and continue to log all of my Daily Reading.

So, now you know I love excel spreadsheets. Let me further blow your Geeky little minds to say that I further geeked out at the possibility of having a chart so I can see how much time I spent reading on a monthly basis. Because I’m such a sucker for pie charts and I’m a visual being, I have now created this   little bit of awesomeness to show off for the Month of January.  I’m also going to be entering this chart directly onto their Ravelry Board in a bit…

Update 2/28: So, I REALLY love making these spreadsheets!!! 😉

As You can see from the Pie chart,         I practically LIVED at work this month. But with the Valentine’s Day crazy, that’s not really surprising. Let’s hope that next month will have more colors…. Here’s hoping! 😉

I’ll keep you updated on March’s charts in the beginning of April so you can see the difference as we go…

Wish me luck!!! Until Next Time,

#7’s Up! ;)

This month, I also managed to finish my DVD (Desert Vista Dyeworks) KAL monthly socks! With 2 days to spare, ya’ll! I was kind of worried there for a bit. (Just ask my Supervisors at work…;) lol.) To catch you up, the DVD Monthly Sock Club is where you knit a pair of socks in the month. This means I was working on these socks from February 1st to 26th.

I’m nothing, if not predictable with this month’s project title. I simply called them “February DVD Socks.”  Again this month, I used the pattern “Toe-Up Socks With A Difference” by Wendy D. Johnson. The colorway this month was “Zombody Loves The Knitgirllls.”

And, in case you were wondering, I used a pair of US 1 (2.25mm) 9 inch circs & 16 inch circs for the toe, heel, and cuff.

So, if you wish to follow my journey in this KAL, please follow me on Instagram, or through these Hashtags:

Return of the 6th!

Hello everyone! I’ve had a bit of Knitting ADD during the month of February, especially toward the end. However, I managed to finish a few things.

The first, was what I titled “Barley Loves You To Pieces.”

I started this hat on 1/18 and finished a majority of the hat in a few days. Then I got to the decreasing, and realized I had NO idea where my 5.0mm (US 8) DPNs went to. I ordered some, and the date that they came in the mail, I finally finished it on 2/23. If you couldn’t see by the pictures above, I used a 4.0mm (US 6) for the ribbing. I absolutely LOVE how it came out.

I used the “Barley” by Tincanknits, and knit it to pattern. I used Leading Men Fiber Arts, Dramaturg, “Love You To Pieces”

#5, And We’re Starting To Jive!!!

Yup! I have another project finished for January. This is actually going in my box for 2018 Holiday gifts, so it’s a win-win. I didn’t want to stop knitting on it. Can you blame me? It came out awesome!

I called this project “Icy Joyful Diamonds.” I started this project October 15th of 2017, and finished it yesterday! I was taking a picture of this FO for Instagram, and got Catbombed in the cutest of ways…. The picture was too cute, so I didn’t bother re-taking the picture to get a better picture for my Ravelry FO picture. You can see why, right?

This is the “Pure Joy” by Joji Locatelli. I absolutely LOVED the genius of this simple, but pretty, pattern! It called to me the entire time I was knitting on it. Let me show you a close  up of the simple lace pattering.  Isn’t it pretty!!!

I used two colorways of Lolo Did It, Plush Sock. One was “Ice Ice Baby,” and the Second was “Barely There Diamond.” I absolutely LOVE the way these two colors played off each other, and of the way they matched the personality of the person I’m giving this shawl to.

Honestly, now that I’ve finished it, I kinda wish there was more to knit. So, I predict there will be another “Pure Joy” on my needles in the near future. Maybe after I finish a few other things… Let’s see how long I can be good…

Anyway, I’m off to continue Finishing things!  Until Next time, Happy Crafting!

#4, And Hoping For More!!!

As many of you probably have figured out already, I’m planning on participating in the Desert Vista Dyeworks’ Fourth Annual Sock Club. Basically, the premise of the Club, is to start and finish a pair of socks in a month using Desert Vista Dyeworks’ (DVD) wonderful yarn colorways. I’ve been thinking of doing this since November of 2016, and set about getting enough yarns for a whole year during the course of  2017.  For ease of access on Ravelry, I’m going to simply call them all by the month’s name and DVD socks.

So, you guessed it!!! The name of this month’s socks I called “January’s DVD Socks.”

The colorway this month was Called “Seven Year Itch.”  This colorway was created by Susan to celebrate The Knitgirllls’ 7th Podiversary this past year. I KNEW it was the perfect colorway for January, as it was also Emptyeye and My 7th year wedding anniversary. So, as you do…

I started this pair right after midnight on the 1st and completed the pair on January 23rd. I used Wendy D. Johnson’s “Toe-up Socks With A Difference. This wasn’t the first time I used this heel, but it is one of the heels I like the best…  Here, let me get you a close-up of the heel…

When I write this post, there are just over 12 hours until I can cast on February, and I LITERALLY cannot wait! 😉

Anyway, I’m off to keep finishing things.  Until the next time, Happy Crafting!
