Granny’s Cloud Clusters Shawl

Hello Beautiful Readers! Welcome back to my WIP Madness Corner! The next WIP I want to talk about, is a crochet shawl I started on 8/26 of this year. I’m calling this shawl “Granny’s Cloud Clusters Shawl.”

I am hosting this project in my “Bigger On The Inside” TARDIS bag by Addicted To Sock Knitting. Their website can be found here.

I am using the “Quick & Simple Granny Shawl” pattern by Hannah Owens. This is a shawl with Granny Clusters in it, so it goes REALLY fast. I am using a size G or 4.0mm crochet hook and 5 different colors of Cloudborn Fibers, Highland Superwash Sock Twist. I will be using the “Natural,” “Petal,” “Burgundy,” “Magenta,” and “Lavender Heather” colorways. Yes… In this exact order.

I am currently on the third color. I really DO love the way it’s working up. What do you think?

Update 9/7:

I finished the shawl Saturday Morning. This is FO #55. I did 60 rows of the Granny Clusters, then 1 row of double crochet, 1 of treble crochet, then 1 last row of double crochet to finish the shawl. What do you think of the shawl?

Power Went Out? Ok. Time for A New Project

Hello Beautiful Readers! Welcome back to my WIP Madness Corner! The next WIP that I’m going to talk about, I called “Power Went Out? Ok. Time for A New Project.” I started this project on 8/4 of this year. If you don’t know, that’s the date that Storm Isias hit our area, and Emptyeye and I lost power for 2 1/2 days. I decided I needed a new project to work on. Hence the name…

This project is being housed in my Tardis bag by The Knitting Broomstick. Jilly’s shop can be found here.

I’m using the Quick & Simple Granny Shawl” pattern by Hannah Owens. I’ve been using a size G or 4.0mm Knitters Pride crochet hook and MANY different scraps from Stripey Socks. I’m sorry. I no longer have the ball bands, so I don’t know what the colors. I”ve been adding colors pretty much at random as well. I hope to get this shawl to at least 100 rows, which should be about 200 granny clusters in the row. I’ll see when I feel like finishing it off. Here’s what I have so far…

Update 9/7:

I finished this shawl on 8/29. It went SUPER fast! This is FO #54 for the year. I LOVE this shawl. What do you think?

Until Next Time, Happy Crafting!

Toddler Hat

Hello Beautiful Readers! Welcome back to my WIP Madness Corner! The next “WIP” I wish to discuss, is what I called “Toddler Hat.”

This hat went super fast. As in, I cast it on and finished it on 8/25. This is FO #53. I used Paintbox Yarns, superwash wool, Simply Aran in the “Vanilla Cream,” “Slate Green,” “Pistachio Green,” “Soft Fudge,” and “Red Wine” colorways. For the hat, I used size US 6, 4.0mm needles for the ribbing, and size US 8, 5.0mm needles for the rest of the hat. Switching to DPNs for the crown decreases. The project was done so quickly, I just housed it in a Ziploc bag… lol.

Bebe Barley T

Hello Beautiful Readers! Welcome back to my WIP Madness Corner!

The next “WIP” I want to talk about is what I called “Bebe Barley T.” This knit went SUPER quick. As in, I was able to cast on and finish the hat on 8/16 and didn’t even have time to allocate a bag to include it to. This is FO 51 for the year.

The pattern I used for this hat, was the “Barley” pattern by TinCanKnits. I used Plymouth Yarns, Hot Cakes, in the color 6 “Garden Mix” colorway. I used size US 6, 4.0mm needles for the ribbing, and US 8, 5.0mm needles for the rest. Switched to DPNs for the crown decreases, as usual.

Until Next Time, Happy Crafting!

Blanket Para Bebe

Hello Beautiful Readers! Welcome back to my WIP Madness Corner! The next “WIP” I want to talk about is what I called “Blanket Para Bebe.” This is FO #52 for the year.

This blanket was housed in my Pink Mattress bag by The Knitting Broomstick. Jilly’s Etsy shop can be found here.

I started this blanket on 08/13 and finished this blanket on 8/25. It was a pretty quick knit, considering. I used the “Fuss Free Baby Blanket” pattern by Louise Tillbrook Designs and size US7, 4.5mm Knitters Pride Smart Sticks 24 inch cable, then I graduated it to a ChaioGoo red lace 60 inch cable once it got big enough.

I used Paintbox Yarns, superwash wool, Simply Aran in the “Vanilla Cream,” “Slate Green,” “Pistachio Green,” “Soft Fudge,” and “Red Wine” (in this order) colorways. To specify, I used 885 total yards. This is broken down as:

  • Vanilla Cream: 153 yards
  • Slate Green: 195 yards
  • PIstachio Green: 191 yards
  • Soft Fudge: 185 yards
  • Red Wine: 161 yards

The plan was to have the Soft Fudge color frame the other colors.  Here are some pictures of the blanket. I really love the way it came out! What do you all think?

Until Next Time, Happy Crafting!
